
Easy Pastry Twists
ingredients
- 1 x320g pack puff pastry sheet (we used Jus Rol)
- 1 tbsp green pesto (we used our homemade kale pesto, but you could use shop bought)
- 1 tbsp tomato sauce (or sun-dried tomato paste)
- 30g grated cheddar cheese

method
- Start by pre-heating your oven to 180C and lining a large baking tray with baking parchment.
- Roll out your pastry sheet on a large surface, then using a sharp knife divide the pastry sheet into quarters.
- On one of the pastry quarters, spread the pesto and on another pastry quarter spread the tomato sauce and top the sauce with the grated cheese.
- Then place the 2 remining pastry quarters on top of the pastry
- Using a sharp knife then cut each of the pastry sections into 6 strips (there should be 12 strips in total for both pastry pieces)
- Transfer each pastry strip to the lined baking tray and twist several times lengthways to create a twist effect.
- Make sure to leave some space in-between each pastry strip as they will puff up when cooking!
- Bake in the pre-heated oven for 12-15 mins or until golden brown.
- Once ready, remove from the oven and transfer to a wire rack to cool before serving.
- Delicious taken to picnics or dipped in your favourite salsa. These will also keep for a few days in a airtight container, so delicious to enjoy later alongside seasonal summer salads.
