Sometimes we don`t have time to eat a sit-down meal and, even when we do, our choices aren`t always the best for our health and wellbeing. Research reveals that when we`re tired we often opt for foods high in fat and sugar "“ which can result in excess calories and, in turn, weight gain if you choose these foods frequently.
So it`s important that we try to "˜snack right`. However if you eat three good, balanced meals a day you shouldn`t need many snacks throughout the day.
Snacks tend to be crisps, sweets, sugary drinks and chocolate. These are okay in moderation "“ but they`re often much higher in calories, fat, saturated fat, sugar and salt than we realise and are nutritionally poor.
